1. Andalucia

(instrumental - no lyrics)

2. Drinking Shoes

I went out last night I stayed out all night long(x2)
I didn’t come home until the moon was gone

I was out drinking drinking beer and gin(x2)
when I woke up oh the shape I was in

my head hurt bad I couldn’t hardly see(x2)
I had to ask my self what’s wrong with me

if I don’t stop drinking I’m gonna be stuck with the blues(x2)
I wish I could take off my drinking shoes

3. Tumbleweed Rag

(instrumental - no lyrics)

4. When I'm Away From You

I’ve been so lonely without you
I’m down here and you’re up there and there’s nothing we can do
I promise baby I’ll be back home real soon
I tell you that I miss you
and you know it’s true
my life just ain’t the same
when I’m away from you

I miss you holding me in your loving arms
and oh how I miss hearing the sound of your beating heart
I don’t like being away from where you are
I tell you that I miss you
and you know it’s true
my life just ain’t the same
when I’m away from you

shining bright blue eyes
and a tongue that never lies
a smile that makes me cry for you
I tell you that I miss you
and you know it’s true
my life just ain’t the same
when I’m away from you

5. Lowdown Hurtin' Blues

when you’re sad
I get sad too
I get the sad and lonesome blues

when you’re down
I get down too
I get the down and lonesome blues

I do my best to listen and understand
what you’re going through
but all I can do
is give you all of me
and try to rid you of your blues

when you cry
I cry too
I get the teary lonesome blues

when you’re hurtin’
you know I’m hurtin’ too
I get the lowdown hurtin’ blues

6. Menlo Rag

7. Harmonica Break

8. Highway 58

I’m driving down the highway highway 58
trying to get through Oakridge but it’s gettin’ kind of late
I got eighteen wheels and a heavy load
highway 58 can be a very dangerous road
and I’m moving just a little too fast
gonna pay the price
slip off of the highway
on a block of black ice

down into the canyon down about twenty feet
a thousand boxes of hershey chocolate as far as the eye can see
I get on my radio and I call up for some help
someone please get me out of this mess someone get me out of this hell
and here comes Byerley towing
in a great big tow truck
the man said “that’s a lot of chocolate”
and then he got me unstuck

he worked all night and into the day and he got me back on the road
he barely charged me nothing and he took some chocolate home
he said he had a granddaughter in California that he really did love
he liked to send her stuff that he picked up from all the trucks
and it warmed my heart just knowing
that there were people on this earth
that cared so much about others
and what their lives were worth

so there’s a five year old girl in California she’s getting her chocolate fill
from her grandpa up in Oakridge just cleaning up after a spill
I can picture her face as happy as happy can be
granddaddy the tow truck man sending chocolate down to me
I stayed the night in Oakridge
I headed out the next day
I’ll always be grateful to the tow truck man
out on Highway 58

9. Three Years Ago

the place was covered with photographs and books
record albums and bohemian looks
two bedrooms eight hundred square feet
nothing more than you would ever need
he had a lover didn’t treat him no good
didn’t treat him like the way that he should
when I think about it now it gets me kind of low
when I think about life three years ago

three years ago you left this world
your head long past being full of curls
you left this world more than you could ever know
you left this world three years ago

three years ago I came to this town
three years ago you were hanging around
three years ago we used to listen to the sound
of the band playing sweet sweet music

lofts go up rents don’t come down
who can afford to live in this town?
people starving on the street freezing to the bone
don’t have so much as a home
mansions on the hill there’s nothing they lack
when are they ever gonna give something back?
there was a man whose good heart shone
right up until three years ago

my girl took good care of you
she did the best that she could do
she was there all the way through
while the band played sweet sweet music

and the bus will still take you all the way across town
and the subway will still take you underground
if you never learn to drive you’ll be better off
it’s good for you to walk a few blocks
open up your mind and free your soul
like I know you did three years ago

10. Royal Oak Rag

(instrumental - no lyrics)

11. Going to Pasadena

I’m going to Pasadena gonna see my baby tonight(x2)

she’s gonna make me feel so good
she’s gonna make me feel alright
I’m going to Pasadena
gonna see my baby tonight

she’s gonna make me feel alright(x3)
in Pasadena everything’s gonna be alright

12. Moishes' Blues

you came down to my cellar
you came down to my place
you had bruises all over your body
and blood all over your face
you were barely breathing
you needed someone to care
nice warm bead a home cooked meal
safe from the world out there

Moishe’s blues don’t mean nothing
they’re all over and done
come with me to the willow tree
and I’ll teach you how to love

going back to the hood get those guys
nothing but hate on the mind
girlfriends’ killed she’s not coming back
your tears making you go blind
listen to me I’ll share with you
I’ve been through it all before
I know what you’re thinking my heart it is sinking
every time you walk out that door

you’re killing yourself with all your hate
I know exactly how you feel
let the love flow from your heart it’s the best way to heal
I look at you and I see me
so many years ago
but what you’re doing it’s gonna be your ruin
believe me ‘cause I know

13. Lemon Tree Blues

(instrumental - no lyrics)

14. Going to Bentley

(instrumental - no lyrics)

15. Bottom of the Dial

if you tune your radio
somewhere down near the bottom
of the dial
that’s where you’ll hear
the real good stuff

down near the bottom of the dial
somewhere between 88 and 92
that’s where I hear
what I wanna hear

sometimes I sit up all night just listening
to sad blues on the radio
at the bottom of the dial

I’ve heard songs of heartbreak
longing and desperation
way down
at the bottom of the dial

and I’ve cried tears of sorrow
and I’ve smiled so big
from songs that I’ve heard
at the bottom of the dial

you might not ever hear led zeppelin
‘n sync or madonna
at the bottom of the dial

16. The Grocery Song

I’m gonna buy you some groceries gonna put ‘em on your shelf(x2)
when you get home you’re gonna eat ‘em by yourself

I’m gonna buy you a brand new car I’m gonna park it on your lawn(x2)
I’m gonna give you the keys and then I’ll be gone

I’m gonna give you anything you want I’m gonna give it to you(x2)
you can do what you want with it ‘cause I’m through with you

I’m gonna buy some groceries for somebody else(x2)
you alone with your groceries and me and mine with somebody else

you’re gonna eat your groceries in your home(x2)
I won’t be there with you you’re gonna eat ‘em all alone

17. E Minor Rag
