Do White People Have the Stamina for Racial Justice Advocacy? This White Guy Thinks So.

by Dana Brownlee

Karol penned A White Guy Confronting Racism: An Invitation to Reflect and Act to not just further his mission to create a more equitable, just and inclusive society but also to call other White people to join him. Just launched, his book pushes White readers to reexamine their commitment to racial equity and social justice at arguably just the right time. “Right after George Floyd was murdered, White people started to wake up to the realities of racial injustice in droves, but 18 months later it seems that much of the initial enthusiasm and urgency has waned,” insists Karol. Determined to counter that trend, Karol sends a clear message to his less melanated brethren. “Anti-racism and discussions about race aren’t going anywhere,” insists Karol. “White folks have a choice: learn and grow and be part of the conversation in a meaningful way or fade away into irrelevancy.” . . .
